
I am pleased to have an opportunity to give kudos to some of the many students, staff members, and parents who are doing wonderful things at Stafford High School.

SCHOOL-WIDE STUDENT RECOGNITIONS:
■ Stafford High School had a group of students visit Italy this summer. Debbie Bileca and Caren Falzarano were their group leaders and Conrado Ulloa and Stephanie Wooley (SHS graduate) were chaperones for this very exciting trip. The students that went on the trip were: Ian and Austin Sullivan, Mettie Ostrowski, Julia Luksha, Sarah Herring, Melina Conrad, Jessica Bradley, Demerise Johnston, Shelby Rossi, Emma Broadhurst, Kathleen Bradway, Jessie Rodriguez, Christy Aborn, Taylor Everett, John Mordasky, Stephen Cichocki, Anthony Randazzo, Kyle Filbig, Andrew Kritzman and Steven Bachiochi.
■ Katie Bradway attended the National Youth Leadership Forum on Law in Washington DC.
She also traveled to Germany and Austria with the Greater Hartford Youth Wind Ensemble.
■ Eighty-seven members of the Stafford High School band played on the green and marched in the parade at the Big E on Sunday, September 21st under the direction of Emily Maynard. A big thank you to the following parents who chaperoned for the day: Lisa Bradway, John & Kim Mordasky, Sally Woods, Margaret & Marc Maynard, Sue Phillips, Norman & Chanjira Boucher, Karen Scroggins and Jennifer Fontanella.
■Currently, drama has 67 students in drama that are busy rehearsing for Snow White, Robin Hood and Hansel & Gretel that will be presented on November 14th & November 15th. The Drama Boosters will be sponsoring a dinner theatre at each show under the direction of Sonya Weed, Jennifer Fontanella, and Kristen Beaulieu.
■ We welcome two more foreign exchange students to Stafford High - Stina Ilves, Grade 11 from Estonia and Jakarin Treedara, Grade 11 from Thailand.
■The sports teams are up and playing. On October 23rd, the girls’ field hockey team will play against Windham. The theme of this game will be “Play for the Cure.” Spectators are encouraged to wear pink and a donation table will be set-up.
■The Initiative Club and their advisors, Mr. Shea & Mrs. St.Marie, are encouraging everyone to wear red on October 23rd in support of “Red Ribbon Day.” Many posters are hung around the building in support of this cause.

■ This year, thirty-seven students met and received computer training to work on the school yearbook.
■ SHS Rotary Student Leader of the Month Awards have gone to Brittany Broculgio and
Emily Maynard.
■ A speedy recovery is wished for Colleen Heuitson after her recent surgery.
■ Several activites are planned for Spirit Week which is the week of October 13th with the Homecoming dance on October 18th.
