| ABOUT ME |
Hello, I am Brett Duchon, Director of Choirs, Stage Door Players (Drama), and General Music Teacher here at Stafford Middle School.. To tell you a little bit about myself, I grew up in West Harrison, New York (just 20 miles North of New York City). I attended the Harrison Public Schools and graduated from Harrison High School in 1990. I then became a chef for the Marriott corporation for 6 years before beginning college. While living in West Harrison, I was volunteer firefighter and served as Treasurer of the West Harrison Volunteer Fire Department from 1990-1995. I then attended and graduated from Western Connecticut State University in January of 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education.
I currently reside in Holyoke, Massachusetts with my wife AnnMarie and my cat, Lance. Some of my hobbies include composing, reading, traveling, watching drum and bugle corps competitions, playing softball, community theatre, golf, football, and hockey. I am a really BIG New York Yankees, Washington Redskins, New York Islanders, and Los Angeles Lakers fan.
In my seven years in Stafford, I have
created and developed the Multi-Award
Winning and Nationally Ranked SMS Stage and Select Choirs (2005 &
2007 Music Showcase Festival Grand Vocal Champions), was
an
assistant
coach for the SMS Girls Softball team (2003). I thoroughly enjoy
working in
this town and hope to continue as Music teacher and Choral Director for
many years to come. In May of
2007, I earned my Master's Degree
in Educational Technology at Lesley University, Cambridge,
Mass.

be in band and/or chorus and maintain a B- average or better in all
your
classes. You must

participate
in weekly meetings, music theory classes, community service projects,
fund raising activities, musical performances, guest speakers at

for all band and chorus students to participate in. The rewards
will
hopefully last a lifetime. Please see Mr. Duchon, Chapter Advisor
