News Dear Parents,
We have written our Classroom Constitution. Students met in small groups and decided what the rules for our classroom would be. After listing them on the board, we were able to combine some and choose the ones we felt were most important. The students came up with the following: <>
1. Be responsible.
2. Be respectful. 3. Be safe. 4. Be helpful. 5. Pay attention. We have practiced what these rules look like when students are following them. Students also talked about what suitable consequences would be, if a rule was broken. We are using the consequences they decided were appropriate. There has been progress in most areas, but some students still need a lot of reinforcement. You can help at home by checking homework folders and assignment books. Is your student copying homework assignments in his/her assignment book? Is she/he remembering to put her/his homework in the folder each day? Thank you for checking. I am hopeful that all of this will be become routine, not just for this year, but for years to come. (Top) |
