Mrs. J. L. Titus B. S., M. Ed.

Welcome!  I have been in the field of Health Promotion and Wellness for twenty years.  It is my passion and I am happy to share that passion with my students.

I received my B. S. Degree from Western Connecticut State College in Community Health Education with a minor in Biology.  I have worked at area hospitals, for non-profit organizations and the State of Connecticut in health promotion and wellness management.   I am also a certified leader for Smoking Cessation Clinics.

While raising a young family of 3, I returned to college to obtain my Master's Degree at Springfield College.  I earned a M. Ed. in May 1996 in Health Education with certification to teach Health, Pre-K to 12.  I have been teaching for 7 years, beginning my teaching career in Massachusetts and fortunately returning to Connecticut where I live.

Health is a way of life which I am committed to both personally and professionally.  Each one of us is in charge of our own health.  We make choices daily which effect us and our state of well-being.   My goal is for my students to develop patterns and lifestyles which have positive effects on them both now and as they grow older.   Gaining knowledge, identifying resources  and acquiring skills help students to become responsible in achieving maximum health.

I encourage you to use this site for accurate, up-to-date information.   I have provided a monthly health calendar with links to sites which you may find useful to learn more about your own health.
