Students work in groups to learn how to plan, prepare and cook different dishes. Students make a breakfast sandwich, the most important meal of the day and a healthy lunch. Students host a Parent/Guest Luncheon of Tacos, Sunshine Cupcakes and Ice Tea at the end of the term. |

Students study nutrition, the science of food and its importance in overall health and well-being. A healthy diet is needed to grow, for energy, to repair cells and prevent diseases. Students will identify the six nutrients and review the Food Pyramid. In small groups, students create a mobile of an assigned nutrient. |
