6th Sixth graders will begin their experience in industrial technology with a safety overview and an introduction to hand tools and some simple power tools. (i.e., palm sanders, hand drill and drill press) Students will construct the class project, bluebird house, and upon completion they will know not just how to construct a bird house, but also a little about the habitat of the bluebird. 7th Seventh graders will design and construct a mantle clock using skills acquired in previous classes here in the wood shop. This year they will build on previous knowledge on woodworking and gain skills in the band saw. This will enable them to create more intricate projects. 8th Eighth graders are going to design,
build and race Co2 Dragsters.
Students’ cars will be graded based on the aerodynamics, car
specifications and speed. Upon completion of this unit students
