-General Chemistry and Physics-

<>Class Rules:
1. Tardiness - The students must be in class before the second bell. If the student is late, a half-hour detention will be assigned, served after school (cleaning desks or lab stations). Also please see student handbook.

2. Being Prepared
The student must have the following items when present in class:
    a. Science textbook
    b. Pen or pencil
    c. An organized notebook
A half-hour detention will be assigned to the student who is missing any of the above items.

3. Class Time:
The student will try hard to make good and productive use of the class time. Any kind of chatting will result in a half-hour detention and no credit for the classwork.

Grading Policy:
    a. Tests: 35% - the test date will be announced in advance.
    b. Quizzes: 15% - the quiz dates will be announced in advance.
    c. Homework assignments: 15%
-Homework will be assigned to reinforce the concepts. It must be written neatly and be
completed on time. The students must use complete sentences. Partial credit may be given
to an incomplete assignment that is completed on time. The homework assignments must be
attached in the notebook adn kept in good shape for the entire year. Any missed work must
be made up for the completion of the notebook. This made up work will not be awarded any
credit. The homework assignments will be checked daily and corrected by the teacher
immediately. For this reason, the made up work does not count as credit for the student who
    missed the assignment.

4. Labs 25%:
The following requirements must be met:
    a. Safety: Horsing around will result in severe discplinary action by the authorities. The
student must follow the safety rules required by his or her teacher.
    b. A lab report must be written to follow up the concepts learned in class.
    c. Everyone must participate in keeping the lab clean after work is performed.
    d. The corrected lab report must be kept in the notebook for the entire year.
    e. The practical work in the lab will reflect on the lab report grades.

5. Class Work: 10%
Any assigned work in class-this work must also be kept in the notebook.
