MISSION TO MARS

Now that you are an expert in what characteristics all life has in common, it is time to put this knowledge to the test! I am interested in how you can take your newly acquired knowledge, combine it with your creative imagination, and postulate what might happen, given a new situation.

Suppose you are a scientist embarking on a multinational exploration of the planet Mars. As an exobiologist, you and your colleagues are searching for life. You have stumbled upon something that you think is a life form.

I would like you to construct a science fiction story of your discovery, describing how you found it, what it looked and acted like, and what steps you took to determine it was indeed a living creature. I am looking for scientific logic, knowledge of the planet Mars, knowledge of the characteristics of living things, and an entertaining, imaginative and stimulating narrative.

This assignment should be typed and 1 to 1 ½ pages in length. You should research Mars (through the use of technology) and include your findings in your paper. Each reference should be properly cited using correct MLA format. Also include the domain name from the websites you found your research.
