Rules and Policies
Rules:
Students will:
1. Come to
class on
time and prepared – covered text book, workbook, math binder, completed
homework, sharpened pencils, and
red pen.
2. Be
respectful to
each other and to me - no teasing or inappropriate language
3. Follow
directions the first time they are given.
4. Raise
their
hands and wait to be called upon before speaking.
5. Treat
school
property with care – particularly assigned calculators.
Policies:
Grades for each
marking period will be based on:
- Quizzes
- Tests – Each test counts as two quiz grades
- Homework – 30% of your grade
- Notebook – Checked once per marking period; counts as a
quiz grade<>
- Daily Warm Up Activities – upon completion of 13
warm-ups, the top 10 grades are averaged and count as a quiz
grade. (8th grade classes only)
All test and quiz grades below a 65 must be signed by a parent/guardian
and returned to the teacher.
Homework Policy:
- Homework will be assigned most nights and is due the
following school day.
- Homework must be completed in pencil
- Work must be shown for credit.
- Homework missed due to a school absence must be completed
within 2 school days after return. Assignments are posted on the
classroom bulletin board and on the class web site. It is
the student’s responsibility to check for missed work.
- Late homework will result in points being deducted and a
lunch detention being issued.
