Objective:
To understand the Wellness Concept of physical and mental health. Topics
will include: nutrition, first aid, stress management, wellness and decision
making, substance abuse, and human growth and development. Subject
matter will be learned through lecture and discussion, activities, various
reading materials, and guest speakers.

Class Rules:
1. Bring a pen or pencil, and notebook to class.
2. Attend class (over 11 absences = loss of credit).
3. Be POLITE.
4. Be NICE.
Grades:
1. Each of the following areas will be averaged to count as a test
grade: homework, class work, and quizzes. Tests will be given for each
unit.
2. All the test grades will be averaged together to get the quarter
grades.
3. Quizzes and tests will be numerical grades. Homework and class
work will be graded as check plus, check, check minus, or zero.
A check plus will cancel out a check minus. A check minus = 3 points
off the category average.
4. Late work WILL NOT be accepted. Late work = zero.
5. Excused absence - five school days from the date of absence to make
up the missed homework, class work , quizzes or tests.
