Metal Iech II
is a course that is designed to give the student an opportunity to
identify and use the machinist hand tools , and develop a better understanding
of blueprint reading, along with more advanced latyout
procedures of a project. The student will learn various tools machinists use
everyday along with the machines that develop these products.The
emphasis is placed on developing individual skills in metal machining, metal
product development , and fastening methods that are required to complete various
fabricated projects.Students are also encouraged tto develop their welding skills.
11/17/08 Students have been tested on reading scales, micrometers
, vernier
calipers and the students are now ready to learn how to sharpen lathe cutting tool
and cut the stock for our first machining project . Students also will be
learning the parts of the lathe, and how to operate it.
