Welding
Course
Description: This course is a half credit course designed to introduce the
student to the basic introductory concepts of safe welding practices. Skill development will depend on each student's
individual practice. The types of welding that will be explained and practiced
safely will be gas welding , arc welding , spot
welding , MIG welding, and TIG welding. The students in this course must pass
required safety tests and other set up procedure tests and then practice safe work habits each time they use the equipment.
The student must wear appropriate clothing each day through out the course to
protect their bodies.In addition to the welding
concepts there will be a series of cutting processes that are very helpful to the welder such as Oxyacetylene
cutting , and plasma cutting technology .Open to all students in grades 10-12. Prerequisites : Metal Tech I
11/17/08 The students are finishing the arc welding booths this week Hopefully
we will be safely set up by the end of the week to safely operate the 7 arc welding
machines in their respective booths.
