![]() The High School renovation and expansion is a very complicated project that will take the cooperation of all involved. It is planned that the work will be multi phased and work around the ongoing educational program. We have set up programs for the testing of Indoor Air Quality and Asbestos Abatement for which we will hold informational seminars for students, staff and parents. In an effort to keep the costs of the project down, we have opted to phase the project without the use of additional swing space. The cost to erect, maintain and operate the swing space will instead be put into the school project. The initial phase of the building renovation took place over the past summer with the Administration area and a section of the classroom wing completely renovated. Those areas have been occupied since the beginning of the school year. As spring approaches the athletic field at the front of the building will be completed along with any unfinished landscaping and exterior signage. The new addition to the rear of the building is scheduled for completion in mid March 2007. The addition will house the new science wing as well as the new Cafeteria and Kitchen facilities. The work is now in the finishing stages with millwork, cabinets and flooring in progress along with painting and ceiling work. The school was connected to the new public water system in early January and the permanent heating system was started this past week. The next phases of renovation to the existing building will begin in March when the addition is complete making room for swing space. At that time the lower level classrooms will be renovated along with the Kitchen, Cafeteria and Tech Ed. PLEASE NOTE: The construction site can be an extremely dangerous place. Proper signage and barrier fencing have been provided to deter entrance into construction zones. Informational signage has been provided to direct foot traffic to the athletic fields. Please pass on the information to your children, friends and out of Town visitors that under no circumstance should anyone enter a construction zone.
