The SHS guidance department is here to help you in any way possible. Counselors support students, parents, teacher, and the community as we work together to develop an outstanding educational institution that will meet student needs and prepare youngsters for life after high school. Recognizing that education is truly the key to  success, we encourage students to utilize their full academic potential, to set high, attainable personal goals, and to strive each day for excellence.

Student needs vary  and thus services provided by counselors are regularly assessed for effectiveness and modified as appropriate. Counselors strive to  provide each student with a base of services upon which to build a successful high school career and a foundation for future successes. We encourage participation in all aspects of the high school program and sponsor  various activities that will allow students to grow intellectually and socially. Using a developmental guidance model, we recognize the importance of assisting students through the challenges of adolescence and supporting them as they mature into productive adults. A variety of student focused activities serves to provide the student body with the basic skills necessary to meet with success both at SHS and in the greater community.

Please feel free to call us with any requests or suggestions you may have. We are committed to developing a cooperative working relationship that can only benefit all parties and serve students well. We look forward to working cooperatively for the benefit of all students.

ALTHOUGH WE ARE IN A PERIOD OF RENOVATION, OUR DOOR (WHEREVER IT MAY BE LOCATED) IS ALWAYS OPEN !
