I am pleased to have an opportunity to give kudos to some of the many students, staff members, and parents who are constantly serving Stafford High School in wonderful ways.

SCHOOL-WIDE STUDENT RECOGNITIONS:

  SHS Rotary Student Leader of the Month Awards have gone to Joshua Lo for the month of December and Elizabeth Lukas for the month of January.

  Katie Bradway and Michelle O’Konis for being selected for Eastern Regional Musical Festival.

  Katie Bradway for being selected for the  New England Music Festival.

 Arian Duval and Nathan Rossi for being chosen for the CAS Outstanding Artist Awards.

 Megan Owen & Greg Burns for being chosen for the CAS Scholar Athlete awards.

 Tim Dillon for the Development of “With Character - History Comes Alive” program in which he presents reenactments of historical events.

 David Heavener, for being selected as Stafford High School’s DAR Award recipient.

 

DRAMA DEPARTMENT:

 The upcoming spring musical Peter Pan is scheduled for May 1, 2, 3.  The Drama Club has 45 students participating in this play.

 

Athletic  Department:

Congratulations to the Boys’ Basketball team for qualifying for the state tournament.

 

SPECIAL THANK YOUS:

  Holly Coppinger and Ed Kobelski for bringing 14 students to UCONN to attend the  “Your Money, Your World” Financial Conference. 

  Deb Manning who is covering Jolene’s position while she is out with Violet.   Deb stepped right in and all is going well.

  Kathy Popadin and Monica Cromwell who are busy unpacking boxes and putting our library/media center back into working  order.  

■ Gary Shearer and Linda DeSantis, who are making final arrangements for our NEAS&C

Accreditation visit.

■ Damian Frassinelli for arranging to make our new gym look really great with all new school banners, school colors, and our Bull Dog logo.

■ Ben Scurto, chairperson of our mentoring program who ensures that everyone knows when we have a mentoring session and gives guidance on the scheduled topic.

   The installation of 12 computers installed in the library, 24  in the lab and 24 in the Language Arts Lab.
