PIE Minutes from November 6, 2007

 

Those in attendance: Dorine Andreson, Emily Andreson, Megan Butler, Carolyn Talbot, Laurie Dillon, Denise Jennings, Jolene Piscatello, Jacquie Shors, Shirly Allard

The meeting was called to order at 7:05 PM.

  2. Guest Speaker- Jacquie Shores
    1. Came to speak about AmeriCorps
    2. Wants to do an assembly for students later in the year
    3. (see attached for more information)
  3. Variety Show- Wednesday, November 15
    1. Starts at 7:00 PM
    2. Rude Blues is opening and closing
    3. SHS band is also playing
    4. Admission is $4
      1. $3 with a canned good
    5. concessions table
      1. small water bottles
      2. baked goods
        1. remember to bake for it
      3. workers needed for the table
  4. Logo Contest
    1. No entries yet
    2. Made $95.25
  5. Holiday Breakfast (December 19)
    1. For faculty
    2. PIE pays for food
      1. Waffles, strawberries, juic, etc
    3. Held in cafeteria
    4. Raffle prizes are needed
    5. Clean up needed afterward
    6. PIE members serve
    7. Ladies Chorale, Madrigals and Show Choir will perform
  6. Recognizing Students for Academic Achievements
    1. Ice cream assembly
    2. Last period on November 26
    3. logistics still need to be worked out
      1. perhaps call down at 1:10
      2. or possibly last 30 minutes
  7. Assembly Proposal
    1. Considering: The author of Success Secrets of a Three-time Olympian
      1. Assembly is expensive
        1. Perhaps seek sponsors
      2. He gears the assembly toward the audience
      3. Too concerned about the cost; tabled until next month
    2. Idea: simulated car crash
    3. Idea: have People from town who've been in crashes involving intoxicants come speak
      1. Both B) and C) tabled until next month
