PIE Meeting Minutes on September 3, 2007

I.                    Introduction of Members past and new

II.                  Financial report was discussed where we were told we have:

-$225 from the summer car wash

-$126-$156 from Summerfest

-$760 in treasury

III.                Proposed dates and activities for the WHOLE year

A.      Meetings are going to be held the first Tuesday of every month

B.      Wednesday October 15th is the Powder-Puff football games

-Laurie Dillon volunteered to be the “inside woman”

-The game will open at 7:00 p.m. and ends at 9:00 p.m.

-We need at least 6 volunteers at the game helping out with the bonfire which happens right after the football game

C.       Thursday October 16th is the PIE variety show the group decided that we were going to bake baked goods and serve them and water during intermission. Volunteers are needed and Denise volunteered to be the chairperson.

D.     PIE tried to create a Halloween Double feature scary movie night but with other town activities already going on we figured we would try to fit it in after Christmas in January or February

E.      October 18th is going to be the Tag Sale

-Tag sale will take place in front of the school on the lawn, Mrs. Andresen is chairing this event which will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

- PIE is renting tables to participate in this tag sale for $20

- We have to advertise the tag sale in the newspaper and will let the school groups be aware of this event

- Lisa Bradway is in charge of the raffle tickets

- Looking for raffle baskets

F.       October 4th is going to be a PIE car wash

- Laurie Dillon has already set everything up with the Town Hall

- Laurie Dillon is chairing, and Emily Andresen is getting volunteers

G.     May 22nd is Health Day and/or National Health Care Month

-Jolene Piscetello is chairing

-This event is on a Friday, which at SHS is a half-a-day

-Need Speakers to at least give a ½ hour speech each

H.     CPR offering either February 7,21, or 28th

-Mrs. Allard is the chairperson

-Red Cross/Vernon is offering an after school program that will certify the people who would like to participate

I.        Ballroom dance workshop

-Laurie Dillon is looking into it and it will be discussed later

J.        Getting speakers for a couple of meetings

-Damian Frassinelli

-Mr. McGann

-Elsie’s House

K.      ‘Culture Club’ donation

-$110 per seat- which sends kids to operas, theaters, etc. 7 times a year

-the group voted to donate $110

L.       Ice Cream for honor roll students

-3 times a year

-Lisa Bradway is chairwomen

M.   Two faculty breakfasts

-December and May

-Laurie Dillon and Shirley Allard are chair

-6:30 am

N.     Help at Open Houses in October and March

-Parent Teacher conferences

-First cycle is from 2:05-3:30

-Second cycle is from 5:00-7:30

-Mrs. Andresen will buy the pies which they will sell at the open house

O.     8th Grade Orientation

-Scheduled in April or May
