PIE Minutes from October 2, 2007

 

Those in attendance: Laurie Dillon, Denise Jennings, Carolyn Talbot, Megan Butler, Jolene Piscetello, Shirley Allard, Kristine Campbell, Katie Bradway, Emily Andreson, Dorine Andreson, Fran Kennedy

The meeting was called to order at 7:03 PM.

  1. Minutes from Previous Meeting
    1. Minutes accepted
  2. Book Fair
    1. Scholastic is no longer holding community book fairs
    2. Investigation for a possible alternative yielded no results
  3. Parent Conferences
    1. Volunteers needed
      1. 2:15 - 3:30 and 5:30 - 8:30
    2. Mrs. Dillon will get a table
    3. Katie will make signs
    4. Mrs. Andreson will get more pies to sell
      1. Sell both in the afternoon and evening
      2. $2.50 for a slice, $13 for a whole pie
  4. Harvest Festival
    1. Had a booth to sell pies and run children's games
    2. Made $95.25
  5. Introduction of New Members
    1. Members introduced
  6. T-Shirt/Logo Contest
    1. Contest to design a logo for pie
    2. Ideas for rules
      1. Open to students of the high school and possibly the faculty
      2. Logo should be objects/animals/letters/people and school appropriate
      3. Pertain to PIE
      4. Run through November 16th
    3. A prize will be awarded to the winner
      1. Possibly a $25 gift certificate and a free shirt with the design
    4. Have the shirts made in medium blue with white lettering/designs
    5. Need to make up a flyer
      1. 1/3- 1/2 a page to pass out
      2. Full page poster
        1. Emily will work on them
    6. Voting done by hanging entries in the office window
      1. Each student or faculty member could vote once in the office
  7. Variety Show
    1. PIE members will bake
      1. Will ask some faculty to help bake as well
    2. Workers needed for the ticket table and refreshment table
    3. Looking at Thursday November 15th for the date
    4. Liz Lukas and Christie Aborn are otherwise in charge
    5. Ideas for foods
      1. Candies
      2. Baked goods
      3. Mini water bottles
    6. Tickets priced at $3
  8. Kennedy's Kudos
    1. See attached kudos
  9. Yearbook Advertisement
      1. Yearbook is selling ads
      2. Motion to buy a quarter page ad raised by Mrs. Allard, seconded by Mrs. Jacobson
        1. Motion approved
      3. Ad will possibly have a picture with the student representatives and pies
  10. Assemblies
      1. Still deciding
      2. Hopefully hold one in December and one in March
  11. Powderpuff Game (October 24)
    1. Workers needed to help guard the bonfire
      1. Need to be there at 6:45
    2. Rude Blues will be playing
    3. Game starts at 6:00
    4. Bonfire scheduled for 7:00
