Stafford High School Safe Graduation Mission Statement
The mission of the Stafford High School Safe Graduation Committee is to provide a fun, safe, and chaperoned celebration for the graduating seniors of Stafford High School.  Year-round fundraising by the committee will provide the means to subsidize the alcohol and drug-free celebration.

What is a safe graduation party?
The Stafford Safe Graduation Committee provides graduating students with an all-night, alcohol and drug free celebration.  The purpose of Safe Graduation is to give students a safe alternative to traditional celebrations.  The Stafford safe Graduation Committee is not school-sponsored, but is planned and organized by parents and guardians.  The funding for this activity is derived from the generous donations from local businesses, organizations, and private donations.

The Safe Graduation Party
The evening of safe graduation starts with the graduation ceremony.  After this ceremony and coordinating activities at the high school, the students change into a provided "Safe Grad" T-shirt.  a graduating senior designs the aretwork for this T-shirt. The students then get onto school buses which will take them to the party location.  The students are in a 'locked down" facility until 5:00 a.m. the next morning.   They are rerurned to the high jvia buses.  During the party there is adult supervision at all times.

What will my son or daughter do during this party?
There are always a variety of activities during the party.  In the past, students have had the opportunity to swim, play ping-pong, foosball, and basketball.  There have also been a hypnotist, characaturist, and DJ to provide entertainment.  As students participate in activities, they earn tickets which are put into a drawing for prizes.  Food, including breakfast, is provided all night.

How does my son or daughter attend?
In early or mid-May, graduating seniors will be given a flyer to take home.  Permission slips (and a nomimal fee to help defray costs) need to be signed by a parent or guardian.  A final head count is needed several weeks before graduation so that the proper arrangements can be made.

What can I do to help?
The Stafford Safe Graduation Committee is always looking for volunteers!  Your child does not need to be a senior in order for you to participate.  Please consider doing your part by volunteering to chair a committee or work at a fundraising activity.  The night of the party we always welcome parents to chaperone.

A letter is sent to every senior parent requesting assistance with the festivities.

We meet in the conference room at the Stafford Public Library at 7:00 p.m. on the last Wednesday of the month.  Our dates for the 2007-2008 school year are as follows:

Feb 27th

March 26th

April 30th

May 28th

Parent Volunteers
The Stafford Safe Graduation committee would not have been able to provide students with a safe graduation party if not for our parent volunteers!  Please consider one of the open positions.  A complete board allows a safe grad to run smoothly.
