technology issues. The form is available here as a PDF file or in
your school office. Forms should be turned in to the Technology
Support Teacher at your school.
Troubleshooting
Tips
Computer
- Check
to see
that computer is turned on
- Check
power
cords and power strip
- Check
mouse and
keyboard plugs (computer will have to be restarted if these are not
plugged in)
- Check
patch
cable for computers that are not wireless (the light next to network
cable port on the computer should be on if cable is snug and plugged
into correct port on the wall)
- Check
to see
that user is logged on correctly
- Restart
computer (first remove disks from all drives)
Printer
- Check
to see
that printer is turned on
- Check
power
cords and power strip
- Check
connection from computer to printer
- Check
printer
cartridge
- Check
to see
that user is logged on to appropriate server for networked printers
- Check
patch
cable for networked printers
- Look
at print
queue for networked printers (there may be a backlog)

Applications
- Check
to see
that user is logged on correctly for network versions
- Check
to see
that CD is inserted in correct drive
