Meet Mrs. Gadoury|
All
I ever wanted to be is a teacher and my dream came true in 1986 when I
began my
magical teaching career at Who
Knew?
I
am the proud and very busy mother of 2 students—Dan and I
have 3 pets--a rescued Bichon named Jambo, an anole named Drazil, and a
fish
named Einstein. The
most dogs I ever had at one time is 9! I
think “creepy-crawlie” critters are fascinating and I would have a bat
for a
pet if I could. The
farthest I have ever been from home is I
am ambidextrous and love to study brain research. I
collect Zuni fetishes. I
grew up in a blended family and am 1 of 8 children. My
dream is to someday publish my own children’s book. |

Lunch & Recess
|
We
go to lunch at 11:30 and then we enjoy some playtime until 12:25. If it is dry and warm, we get to play with
our friends outside. If it is wet or
freezing, we play in the gymnasium or in our classroom. |
Homework|
I
believe that learning can and ought to be fun! I
also believe that learning is 24/7 and not limited to my
classroom. With this in mind, I create
monthly packets that practice and celebrate our growing
skills, encourage time management, and promote responsibility. Homework calendars and packets are sent home
at the start of each month and are due on the last day of each month. Please don’t hesitate to contact me to
request materials or answer questions. Thank you for your support with our homework activities! |
Classroom Routines|
Your
child needs his/her West Stafford School butterfly communication
folder every day. Please be sure to check
for news, notes, and
classwork every day. Everything that you
send in to school, including lunch and Flutterby Bookstore money, should
be in
the this folder. Our school day officially starts at 8:15 with attendance, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the cafeteria lunch count. Our academic day begins with a whole hour of language arts instruction. Then we usually head off to one of our specials. We return to our classroom to spend another hour working in smaller differentiated reading groups. Next we enjoy lunch and recess. Right after recess, we spend an hour on math lessons. We finish most days with science or social studies activities. We pack up to go home at 2:40 and school officially ends at 2:45. |
Communication|
I
understand that parents are children’s
first and most significant life-long teachers in realizing hopes and
dreams for
success in life. It is my desire to
strengthen this partnership through on-going communication and active
home
participation in our process of teaching and learning this year. It is my strong commitment to do my very best to meet your child’s individual needs and to foster a love of school and learning. Please do not hesitate to contact me at any time during the school year with any questions or concerns. I am always available to conference by:

Volunteers|
I
am always happy to have volunteers participate and
assist in our daily lessons. If you
would like to come in, please let me know when you are available and
what areas
you would feel most comfortable helping with (math, reading, writing,
computer
projects, crafts, displays, clerical, etc.) You
are always welcome—whether it is once a year, once a
season, once a
trip, once a month, or once a week. |
